A little disclaimer for those little ears ! 
In this episode we welcomed the wonderful Aleks Trkulka. Aleks is a sex-positive therapist and has specialty training in issues of sexuality, sexual function, body image, and eating disorders. 
This was a big episode ! it jumped from place to place and we unpacked a BUNCH of really great topics ! Aleks is a wealth of knowledge and helped us (and you too!!) to reframe our perspectives and understandings around topics like desire, pleasure and heteronormativity. Aleks led us through exploring concepts like the hetero sex menu, the Queer Sex Buffet analogy and the impact of modern media and porn ! We finished the episode discussing some strategies to create shifts in our sexual relationships ....

We welcomed back another highly sought after guest, Dr Bill. An ENT specialist and holistically focused practitioner to chat about sleep, breathing & your kids ! 
In this episode we unpacked normal and not-so normal breathing patterns in kids, how to observe and monitor those patterns & what to do !! We spoke about disordered breathing, its symptoms and risk factors, the possible consequences and how best to help your little ones experience quality sleep (and breathing !!)

Dr Carlo Rinaudo is a registered Chiropractor, researcher and educator. Dr Carlo has over 21 years of clinical experience and has also completed a PhD in Vestibular (balance) Rehabilitation. 
 
We sat down to chat all about concussions. We discussed what happens to our brains after a concussion, including metabolic, neurologic and physical changes. We outlined who might be more susceptible and why, the Do's and Dont's in concussion management and how our parents, coaches, care gives and ourselves can assist in the recovery from a concussion. 
A must listen episode for all coaches, parents and athletes.

Dr Matt Zuccala, a clinical psychologist sat down to chat with us about evolutionary psychology and what it teaches us about humanity. Matt speaks to his thesis that focuses on an evolutionary framework of death anxiety and ‘mental illness’. 
Matt provides us with a wonderful perspective around how our own environments influence our wellbeing. We speak about attachment systems and adaptive behaviours and what they mean, as well as taking a deep dive into death anxiety, fearing death and mental illness. 
This was one of the most fascinating chats and episodes we have recorded.

There are some common misunderstandings or “myths” as we refer to them in the episode around strength training; what it is, when it’s appropriate and how or when to do it. There is also some wonderful evidence to show us its benefits ! Archie unpacks all of this and helps you understand how strength training can benefit you. 
Archie gives us some simple exercises and examples of how we are include strength training into our daily routines. He explores some barriers to strength training and gives some suggestions for solutions.

Another super fun episode !
This week we are joined by Michelle, a swim coach who has been in the industry for 30+ years. Michelle shares with a us a wealth of knowledge around how to get the best out of our kids in sport without the burn out. You'll soon understand, Michelle speaks straight from the heart. She is incredibly authentic in what she shares during this episode, she lets us into her personal experiences & shares with us her personal, core values. 
Along with some personal stories and experience from Michelle, Sarah and Lily, we speak about some big issues in sport including burn out, over training and how to quit… We also speak to the triad of wellbeing and how it applies to sport and our athletes. We unpack the physical side, the nutritional and then the mental/emotional and the intertwining relationship between all components. 
Michelle’s experience and wealth of knowledge in her profession was a wonderful insight into the athlete world and the workings of a coaches mind. This was a huge episode that came full circle with the beautiful triad of health. It has so many little golden nuggets that we are sure you’ll love.
